2011 // Nomaden (Oslo, Norway). Steady beats at irregular dates Petsounds Bar. Once again attending Soule Essence, Great Yarmuth. Rocking the fridays at Griffin Steak House (Soulfood) and more coming up.
2010 // Pet Sounds Bar, Skånegatan 80, Stockholm — Uptown! Some nights at 1900 and Gubbrummet downtown Stockholm. Soulsides (Helsinki, Finland). Back again for Soulshine at Boule Berså (under Danviksbron, bring cash), guests at legendary Soulastatic (Göteborg), Uptown at 1900 (Stockholm) and our remote recidency at Rex (Umeå) a gettogether we like to call – Soulshine Picnic.
2009 // Nefertiti again, massive dancing, strictly quality soul and funk. Guests at Britt (simply good music nights) at Folkbaren. Soulshine Picnic every wednesday Rex Umeå (got a few nights). Back at Boule & Berså, for the last summer games between june to august. Back once more at Sjöfartshotellet, rooftop! This looks like being the year of (After) Work To Do – a great Isley Brothers tune by The Main Ingedient by the way. Every fridays 18-21 (and sometimes longer) at Imperiet as well as late last year. We also presented some Soul, Guts & Love at Södra Bar (Stockholm) and has again been featured with shows on Radio Pellenera (Italy). Jay slapped some soul upon Åre (Phil& Steve at Diplomat) and a couple of times at Musslan under the names Genuine 45′s and Wasa Funksällskap.
2008 // Massive year featuring G.S.C at Mosebacke, Sjöfartshotellet, 2-Step Lounge at Imperiet, regular nights at Musslan and guest starring all around Sweden like Nefertiti (Göteborg), Plaza Social (Umeå). Also back at Boule & Berså, SpyBar (Humlegården), a couple of times at Pontus! (Brunnsgatan 1) and more. About G.S.C – Genuine throwed down some nice soul and funk nights at Mosebacke as G.S.C; One mad mad mad nice, one nice and one with great music but to little people. Sad but true we had to end our journey in rare soul at one of the finest venues in town. So thanks all for coming down, dancing, drinking and enjoying mighty tunes delivered by Soul-Sami, WillRock, Butch, Jazzman Gerald, Fryer and True-$. You might also have seen us rockin’ the Rival once again. Until next time catch us on top of buildings (July 3) and more to come… love!
2007 // Spring time at Elverket as Genuine, sweet summer as always as Genuine Soulshine at Boule & Berså and starting off winter as The Sound Of Genuine at Restaurant Goteborg in Sjostaden… you know the fine kind of friday soul and funk in the wintergarden beside Sickla canal. And who knows, maybe we might be back sometime in Sjöstaden. Take care, thanks for the cava.
2006 // Saline turned into Republique and naturally switched musical aim into house (wadda). And because good music can’t be stopped we just moved on to ambulate for a while and every friday during summer at Boule & Berså. Open air, soul, funk, jazz, boule, boats and beer. Mad nice. Still get’s the chills.
2005 // In january 2005 we started our journey as Genuine. First up at the Fabulous Saline (Nowadays Republique at Tulegatan 17) Stockholm. Every month we turned the rum soaked bar into a soul club. Guests like Nik Weston, Believe Malmö, PF Elving, Martin Do Brasil, Tobias Brandt, Olof Uhlin, Jens Jakobsson, Martin Brunn and featured bikes by Sson and art by PF Elfving and Gidappa!.
